The Great Mommy Debate

I was forwarded this article from a friend and had to share it.  Glennon Melton, mommy blogger, hit the nail on the head.  Whether you are a working mom or a stay-at-home mom, this article is for you.

To work or not to work once you have kids continues to be a great debate, but the truth of the matter is, the choice is tough no matter what you choose.  It's time that we all just be supportive of what ever that choice is for each of us - as we all know, each choice presents it's own challenges.  As women, we tend to always second guess ourselves.  Just remember ladies, we can only do what we can do, and at the end of the day, smile, knowing you have the most beautiful babes on the planet!

Discover Flint: The Lunch Studio

Fast, generic food gets old quickly!  Try something new this week and head to downtown Flint to the Lunch Studio.  It is the perfect place to relax and grab a quick lunch.  This kid friendly lunch spot offers a cozy atmosphere just like your Mom's kitchen.  A quirky array of tables and chairs and local artwork adds to the homey feeling.

You will feel even more at home once you check out the menu and order one of their made from scratch soups, sandwiches or salads.  Choose from a variety of items, including great vegetarian menu.  Though, I would recommend visiting on Thursday for their homemade Cheesy Potato soup!  It is delicious!  And if I haven't tempted you to visit yet, their friendly, efficient, staff help make the visit even more enjoyable.

No time to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and food?  Don't worry, call ahead and get your yummy breakfast or lunch to go! That's right, I said breakfast.  Did I forget to mention that?  It might be the Lunch Studio, but they are open for breakfast too!  They are open Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, Friday, 8am - 7pm and Saturday, 11am - 3pm.

While you are waiting for your food, take a moment to browse the Flint Handmade boutique at the Lunch Studio.  It is the perfect place to find unique gifts from local crafters and artists. This helps make the Lunch Studio the perfect stop - fill your tummy and do your shopping all in one place, while supporting the local economy.  Stop by and visit today!

This Saturday, May 5th,  Flint Handmade will host it's semi annual craft market at the Masonic Temple on Saginaw Street in downtown Flint.  It is a great place to find unique gifts for every occasion. The Spring Craft Market will feature a large variety of unique, modern handmade items such as original illustrations, screen-printed shirts for adults and kids, reconstructed jewelry, knit and crocheted goods, hand-poured candles, natural bath and beauty products, plush toys and much more from 45 vendors!   Get there early, the first 25 shoppers will receive free goodie bags filled with coupons, merchandise and more. Admission is free, but donations are always welcome.

The Temple Dining Room inside The Masonic Temple will also be open for sit-down and take-out lunches from 11am-3pm.  The Masonic Temple is located at 755 S. Saginaw Street in Downtown Flint, MI 48502.
